CZISNY, KEN   USMC   May 12, 1944 - November 22, 2000

ROCHESTER - The funeral for Kenneth R. Czisny will be at 2pm on Saturday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Peter Nycklemoe officiating. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery in Renville, MN. on Tuesday. Mr. Czisny, 56, died Wednesday (Nov 22, 2000) at Bear Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rochester.

He was born May 12, 1944, in Milwaukee and served in the U.S. Marines from 1961-1964. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in psychology in 1969, received his master's in education in 1973 and a master's in urban affairs in 1974, and a doctorate in urban education in 1984. He married Betty Jane Larus, and they later divorced. He married Julie Larson on Aug 27, 1977, in Spicer, MN. From 1984-1991 he was manager in health services with Atlantic Richfield Co. in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. From 1992-1993 Mr. Czisny was manager of strategic planning with Blue Cross of California in Woodland Hills, CA, and from 1993-98, was a professor and director of health care management at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. In 1998 he was a medical educator at Mayo Clinic in the Department of Family Medicine.

His volunteer activities include being on the board of directors and serving as president of the Arroyo Vista Health Center serving the Hispanic Community in Los Angeles and being a founder of All One Foundation, an anti-gang and anti-drug organization for children. He was a 1993 recipient of the President's Award for his work with the Korean Health Education and Information Center in Los Angeles. His favorite hobby was sailing, and he was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Molly (Roy) of Wauwatosa, WI; a son, Chris (Heidi) of Chanhassen, MN, three grandchildren; his parents, J and and Loretta Czisny of Laguna Hills, CA; and a brother, Ed (Maxine) of Newport Beach, CA. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

FARGO, GLENN E.   USN   February 8, 1936 - November 27, 1995

Glenn E. Fargo, age 59, of N7337 Cty Y, Sheboygan, died peacefully at his home on Monday morning, Nov 27, 1995, after a long and valiant battle with cancer which he fought with dignity and an undying sense of humor.

Glenn was born February 8, 1936, in the City of Manitowoc, son of Vivian (Meister) Fargo and the late Edward B. Fargo. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, in 1954; served his country in the US Navy from 1956-58 and the Naval Reserves through 1965. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1969 with a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. In June of 1962 he was united in marriage to Marion Glaeser at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Marion; his mother Vivian Fargo, Manitowoc; one sister, Donna Thomas, Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Dale (Mamie) Glaeser; a sister-in-law, Joan Glaeser; a special nephew, Kevin Glaeser, Manitowoc. Also surviving are other nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

GANONI, ANTON (TONY)   USMC   September 13, 1941 - April 21, 1980

Anton H. (Tony) Ganoni, 37, of 1103 Lincoln Blvd., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Monday morning, April 21. Funeral services will be at 2pm at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Reverend William Zimmer will officiate and cremation will follow.

Mr. Ganoni was born September 13, 1941, at Milwaukee, son of Anton E. and Mildren Ehley Ganoni. He was graduated from Custer High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From1959-63, he served in the United States Marine Corps and married Sharon A. Schell June 18, 1966 at Milwaukee.

He had been employed with Hamilton Industries, was appointed sales manager in 1972 and moved to Manitowoc in 1975 as the national marketing manager. At the present time he was the national sales manager. He was a member of the Branch River Country Club and Hamilton Management Association and a former member of the Manitowoc Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife Sharon and a son, David, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton E. Ganoni of Milwaukee; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gerald and and Sandra of Allenton, WIs; Marge and Richard and Gregory Ganoni of Milwaukee; a sister, Bea Ann Ganoni of Milwaukee and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Heart Association.

KEXEL, TOM   USA   February 28, 1942 - December 11, 2007

RACINE - Thomas A. Kexel, 65, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital.

Thomas was born on February 28, 1942, to Clarence and Catherine (nee: Flock) Kexel in Racine. Thomas married Kathe Lange on November 11, 1971, in Japan. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked and lived in Japan for six years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin- Parkside.

He taught English as a second language at Gateway Technical Institute. Thomas was actively involved in the Racine Community, including the Racine Unified School Board, OIC, the Racine Literacy Council, United Way, the Racine Library Board, and the Racine Sister Cities Council.

He is survived by his wife, Kathe; daughter, Kela Kexel; surrogate daughter, Camille Clark; and son, Torin (Alice) Kexel. He is also survived by his mother, Catherine Kexel; three sisters, Carole Pfaff, Sue (Roger) Hays, and Kathy Kexel; two brothers, Ken Kexel and Mike Kexel; as well as extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; and dear friends, Alexis Borbouse and Glen Lovelace.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated with charities to be designated at a later date. The family wishes to express special gratitude to those that gave so much of themselves in Tom's times of need. KLESSIG, JAMES   USA   March 14, 1940 - March 9, 2007

Klessig, James H. "Jim" age 66, of Inver Grove Heights, on March 9, 2007, after a brief fight with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn and pets, Russell and Miss Lily. Other family members include a brother; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob, Maggie, Earl, Chris, John, and Nancy. He is also survived by his beloved nephew, Brian and partner Mary; and nieces, Ann, Cynthia, Kira and Victoria; by dear friends, Charlotte and Sadie; friends and co-workers.

Jim was born in Antigo, WI on March 14, 1940 and served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed at the Supreme Allied Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. After military service, he moved to Milwaukee and received two degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Jim was currently employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Office of Research Services, as a State Program Administrator. Previously he held positions as Museum Librarian at the Milwaukee County Museum and Reference Librarian/Chief Archivist at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He also ran his own sales promotion firm in Madison for 15 years. Jim was an avid reader, a jazz enthusiast and built model cars.

Memorials preferred to Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota or donations to the American Cancer Society.

Dennis M. Kostka Born to Eternal Life on May 18, 2006, age 65 years. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley (nee Szyndler). Dear brother of Susan (Ferdinand) Rigoni. Uncle of Anthony Rigoni and Mary Kay (Daniel) DeBord. Great-uncle of Jack Daniel DeBord. Further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

McCabe, Robert E. Monday, November 16, 2009, age 70. Beloved husband of the late Sharon (nee Faulks). Caring father of Kevin. Dear brother of Patrick (Mary Clare) and the late John (Mary). Bob will greatly missed by nieces, nephews, all his relatives and friends. Bob's Milwaukee employment included W.H. Brady and Wellpoint. He was a proud member of the American Cribbage Congress, serving as their Secretary Statistics, Executive Vice President, Board of Directors and was also a Cribbage Hall of Fame member.

MYERS, EDDY   USA   May 14, 1942 - May 11, 1987

Burial in Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Mr. Myers was born May 14, 1942, in Milwaukee, a son of Beatrice Schmid Myers and the late Russell Myers. He attended West Division High School in Milwaukee and received his BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He served in the US Army 101st Airborne from 1963-68.

Mr. Myers had been employed as a millwright for the J. B. Webb Company, working in the Midwest for many years. He was also a member of the Millwrights and Pile Drivers Local 1/82333 in Milwaukee.

Survivors include two daughters, Jill, a student at St. Norbert College in DePere, and Christy at home; his mother, Beatrice Myers of San Diego, California; and two sisters, Mrs. David (Lana) Winkowski of Concord, North Carolina, and Mrs. Donald (Linda) Brandenburg of Cedarburg.

A memorial is being established in Mr. Myers name.

REHM, RICHARD EARL "DICK"   USN   August 7, 1944 - December 24, 2003

Entered Eternal Life on December 24, 2003, at the age of 59. Loving son of Margaret "Peg" Rehm and the late Earl Rehm. Caring brother of Thomas (Karol) Rehm. Devoted uncle of Kari (Scott) Corrington and David (Alison) Rehm. Other relatives and many good friends further survive him.

Dick was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed his volunteer work at the VA Medical Center. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

Internment in West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Avenue, Racine. Memorials in Dick's name may be made to the charity of your choice.

VON HAACK, ARTHUR A.   USMC   August 21, 1943 - February 24, 2010

Arthur von Haack, age 66, of 1723 Dewey St., Manitowoc, passed away on Wed, Feb 24, 2010, at his residence. Arthur was born on Aug 21, 1943, in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur and Velma (Watzke) Haack.

Arthur served with the United States Marines in Vietnam. He worked as a professional deep-sea diver in the Gulf Coast and as a licensed securities broker in the Milwaukee area. In 1978, he completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and married Jean Robichaux. Arthur earned a masters degree in Divinity from Meadville-Lombard Seminary at the University of Chicago and was an ordained minister with the Unitarian Universalist Association. He later formed the Community Ministries Corporation to work with homeless veterans. A lifelong learner, Arthur's associates rarely saw him without a book.

He was a member of the American Legion No. 84, the VFW Post No. 2312 both of Monroe, the Unitaritian Universalist Association, the U.S. Forces Veteran Riders of Manitowoc, with whom he was very involved as a vet helping vets.

Arthur is survived by his daughter Sarah Jane von Haack, Concord, N.H.; his brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Carla Haack and their son, James Haack, Acworth, Ga.; and two sisters: Velma Haack and her daughter, Anna Haack, Milwaukee; and Patricia Haack and her special friend, Dennis Reick, Saukville.

Bob Millard

Bob Millard, age 73, of New Richmond, WI, passed away on May 7, 2010. He is survived by his son James and daughter Jodi (Richard) Shade, and grandchildren Richard Jr., Kathryn, and Joshua.

Bob served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. He was Vet's Club president in the mid '60's. He was retired from the CP Railroad and was a member of the Clan Donald.

RILLING, JAMES E.   USA   Dec 28, 1942 - Jun 19, 1997

Portage - James E. "Jim" Rilling, 54, of Portage, WI, died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at his home.

He was born on December 28, 1942, in Manitowoc, WI, to parents William and Viola (Jacobson) Rilling. He attended school in La Crosse and graduated from West Allis Central High School. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany for several years. He graduated with a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He worked in Milwaukee for several years and then for the Social Security Administration in Portage for over twenty-five years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bread making and working on his computer.

He is survived by his father, William F. "Bill" Rilling of Portage; one brother, William D. (Peggy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mary (Robert) Sheperd of West Allis, WI; besides several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola, in 1993.

Burial with military rites was held at the Sechlerville Cemetery, rural Hixton.

MARK WHITESIDE.   USA   Aug 3, 1942 - Dec 30, 1999

Mark J. Whiteside, 57, died Thursday (Dec 30, 1999) at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center. The son of Doloris (Greenwald) and the late Walter Whiteside, he was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Kenosha. He attended local schools and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He served in the US Army from Feb 1, 1961, to Apr 3, 1964, in Germany. He was in the 75th LRRP and received the Para Badge. On Aug 24, 1996, he married Ann Thomey at St. Mark Catholic Church.

He was employed as a veterans' representative and a labor market analyst for the State of Wisconsin, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Kenosha Art Association, the National Rifle Association, the Wisconsin Archeological Society, a lifetime member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, the Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the Kenosha Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Shaun, Kenosha; a daughter, Bridley Festabend, Kenosha; two stepsons, Daniel J. Bogdanovic, Ft. Bragg, N.C., and Michael E. Bogdanovic, Kenosha; a step-daughter, Claudia Bogdanovic, Kenosha; his mother, Doris Whiteside, Kenosha; a sister, Sheila Wiesztort, Kenosha, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father on Aug 29, 1994; his first wife, Helen, on Oct 19, 1987, and a brother, Daniel, on May 6th, 1972.

BOHDAN DANIELOVICH "DAN" PAVLOS   USN, 1964-1968 Served aboard USS Fulton, AS-11

Birth: Oct. 7, 1942 in Kiev, Ukraine. Death: Jan. 27, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare Fitchburg, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA

He was the son of Anton Pavlos and Stefania (Boko) Matczynsky. The family immigrated to the United States after WWII settling in Minneapolis. After a stint in the navy, Dan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He married Anita Cisler on June 13, 1970 in Milwaukee. Dan worked as a real estate appraiser for the State of Wisconsin for many years after starting in Milwaukee then being transferred to Madison.

Dan and Anita have lived in the DeForest area for 20 years and you could always spot Dan driving his yellow car through town. Dan loved to fish, hunt, and to watch the birds. He also enjoyed spending time at the family farm up north.

Dan is survived by his wife, Anita; mother, Stefania; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anton; step-father, Edmund Matczynsky; brother, George; and mother and father in-law.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Monday, February 13, 2012, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1pm until the time of service. Burial: Cremation
